Young Cultural Leaders
Become a Young Cultural Leader for Imaginarium Theatre and the Shakespeare North Playhouse.
Imaginarium Theatre is delivering a new programme for young people aged 16-21 aimed at develop creative abilities, life skills, a wider understanding of arts and culture, and the opportunity to gain an arts leadership qualification.
There are twelve Young Cultural Leaders, working across four artforms.

Young Workshop Leaders
Participants will gain a Gold Arts Award, (level 3 qualification from Trinity College London worth 16 UCCAS points) along with practical experience supported by professional artists. Placements are for 12 months.
Our Young Cultural Leaders have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects such as making documentaries and short films, supporting cultural events, creating costume, set or props for an Imaginarium production or leading sessions alongside our practitioners.
Young Cultural Leaders work on live projects within our youth theatres and holiday clubs as well and will work alongside Knowsley Council’s Culture and Events staff during the Knowsley Borough of Culture, and the opening programme of the Shakespeare North Playhouse in 2022.

YCL's are given the opportunity to develop their own projects in their chosen artform and have a mentor to offer support and guidance.
Young Filmmakers
Ever watch a film or documentary and thought; "I wanna do that"? Brilliant, then we want you onboard! Imaginarium Theatre are looking for young filmmakers to help us capture our magical creations on film for the world to see, gain valuable filmmaking skills. You could help us document rehearsal sessions, prop and costume making and behind-the-scenes action. Your videos will be used in our promotional and evaluation films, helping capture the hard work, fun and energy that goes into making theatre.

No prior experience necessary, just a genuine interest in working with moving image.
Young Producers
Are you a motivated, creative thinker? Do you have a problem-solving brain? Do you enjoy a challenge? Then producing could be the perfect role for you!

This role will develop skills in creating & designing event marketing plans, liaising with artists and stakeholders, managing & working with budgets and team working & leadership.
No experience necessary, just a can do attitude and some ideas about the sort of events you would like to see in your community.

Young Designers and Makers
Are you excited by colour, shape and texture? Do you have an interest in costume and designing for the theatre? Would you like to develop your understanding of working as part of a theatre production team from concept to performance?
This role will develop skills in working within a production team & communication skills, working to a design brief, developing and realising designs for specific productions
and fitting & sewing costumes & making props.
No experience necessary, just a genuine interest in theatre design and a creative imagination!
Young Workshop Leaders
Do you see yourself as a director, creator or future teacher of the Arts? We are looking for three young people to join us in our Youth Theatre programme and Summer Schools to support, plan and lead within workshops for children and young adults. You will be working alongside our professional practitioners and directors .
This role will help you to develop confidence, resilience, self-disciple & organisation, an analytical approach & the ability to self-reflect, directing, devising and presentation skills and the ability to prepare and deliver creative workshops
No experience necessary, just a genuine interest in theatre and a creative imagination!
